My First Sharks Game

Last night I went to my first Sharks game. My roommate's father was able to get box seats through his work - now I am spoiled for all future games! The view was fantastic and I was pleasantly surprised not to freeze during the game. I'm used to a good New England hockey game where hats, jackets, and mittens are required if one wants to maintain feeling in the limbs throughout the game. Not the case in Cali, it was very comfortable, no jacket required. Not sure how they keep the ice frozen...

While my heart was with the Patriots last night, I did very much enjoy the game, learning all the fan rituals. The audience participation in preparation for power plays was most amusing. The flying sharks (see second photo) were also a new experience for me. I have been told I am allowed to attend future games as the Sharks pulled out a 3-2 victory. If it came down to the Bruins and Sharks in the Stanley Cup, I think I would probably still root for the Bruins, but I am on the verge of adopting my first local sports team.
