A Year

I have been in a very reflective frame of mind for the past few weeks. Not only did I celebrate my 28th birthday, and any birthday makes one pause and evaluate, but I also marked my one-year anniversary living in California in mid-September. I still have not a single regret that I moved here and I think I've adapted pretty well to the West Coast. Nonetheless, I still do not yet feel as connected here as I do the East Coast. I could go on and on with comparing and contrasting each coast but suffice it to say that while I keep busy and have seen a lot in a year, I do feel times of profound loneliness. So I'm working on trusting, staying grateful for this journey and for the lessons I don't yet fully understand.

What a year indeed.
