I have not been on the go as much as desired this Labor Day weekend. On Friday, while carrying too many things between buildings at work, I managed to trip off a curb and turn my ankle. It was one of those slow motion experiences where you know something bad is happening and there is nothing you can do to stop it. BTW, I was not wearing heels, I just happen to be good at tripping, falling, and running into inanimate objects. Anyhow, the ankle is not broken - no snapping sound occurred and I can bear weight on it. I do, however, have a pretty bad sprain and consequently have to ice, elevate, and wrap it a lot. Such a pain, both literally and because I wanted to be up and about for the weekend. I did ignore the orders of Nurse Nancy (my mother) and stayed on my feet for far too long at the Gilroy outlets on Saturday, and I paid the price with a throbbing, swollen appendage that no longer resembled my foot. You can thank me for not taking a picture to share with you. I'm being a good patient now and the ankle does feel better today. Going down stairs is still quite the chore though.
May I continue to mend so that I can be a proper tourist in Italy next week.
